The Concept

Fidgeting, turned into a game.

PowerPlay is an industrial-design concept — a portable recreational and fidgeting device. It features two modes, RPM and PSI, measuring how fast you spin it and how hard you press or strike it.

Designed for solo use or friendly competition, it turns simple, restless interactions into something you actually want to beat.

Two ways to play

RPM & PSI.

One device, two instincts — the urge to spin something, and the urge to press it. PowerPlay scores both.

Mode 01 · RPM

Spin it.

Grab the knurled ring and spin. PowerPlay clocks how fast it turns and logs your peak RPM.

Measures — spin speed
Mode 02 · PSI

Strike it.

Press or hit the ribbed body. It reads how hard you go and tracks your top PSI.

Measures — press / strike force
● In motion

Every session gets a live waveform, a running score, and a HIGHEST to beat — a tiny on-device screen UI designed in Figma.

The Device

Chunky, tactile, unmistakable.

A grippy ribbed body, a satisfying mechanism, and a punchy little display — built to be picked up and messed with.

The same platform, reskinned. Concept editions themed for UFC and Tekken show how PowerPlay could flex into brand and fandom collaborations — new colours, new mechanism finishes, new energy.

Process

Marker sketch to money shot.

Explored dozens of forms in Procreate, engineered the spin-and-press mechanism in Solidworks, lit and rendered it in Keyshot, and designed the on-device screen in Figma.
